If E Gadd sold him the brush then he would've said he sold it to me. specifically said to Mario that E Gadd gave it to him. Third, We don't know if there was money or coins involved due to the people of Reddit stating that E Gadd sold the PaintBrush to Bowser Jr but to me I dont think there was any transaction.Now Bowser Jr. without disguising himself as Shadow Mario.
